About Eric

Eric Padilla is a New York City-based singer and actor from Muttontown (Long Island), New York. He performs in several genres including musical theatre, opera, jazz, and cabaret. He holds a BA in History and Science with a minor in Music from Harvard University.

 

Eric began performing in High School where he played a wide variety of roles in musicals and plays, ranging from Fagin in Oliver! to Lun Tha in The King and I. He pursued performance more intensively at Harvard where he did musicals, opera, plays, and sang with the renowned Harvard Din & Tonics, embarking on a 16-country world tour during the summer of 2012. Some of his favorite college roles include the title role in Sweeney Todd, Bobby in Company, and Guglielmo in Così fan tutte.

 

Eric has received extensive training in voice and acting. He has done intensive performance programs like OperaWorks and Songfest. He has participated in master classes with Tony Award-Winners Barbara Cook and Victoria Clark, soprano Renée Fleming, and acclaimed collaborative pianist and voice coach Martin Katz. He has studied at the Acting Studio in NYC and worked with NYC acting coach Ken Schatz. He currently studies voice with Joan Lader.

 

Since graduation, Eric has performed regionally and in New York City. Regionally, he played the role of Leon Czolgosz in Assassins at Arc Stages in Pleasantville, NY. In New York, he appeared in a new futuristic dance musical called R/evolution and participated in a staged reading of the new musical Savage by composer Doug Brandt. He has also performed and continues to perform in several cabarets around the city.
